USA Today ran our story online, then put it on the front page of the print edition.
Total pinch me moment: Payam Music is front page news. A few days after USA Today published our story on their website, they put it on the front page of the print edition.
Offline innovation without screens
The article is validation that innovation can come from anywhere, not just tech. Everything we do happens in a room, with a student, a teacher, and a piano. No app, no video to pause and rewind. Even our online lessons are live and personalized, not pre-recorded. What a great joy and honor to have the Payam Music story told on TV, online, and on newsprint we can hang on the wall.
Ideas can come from anywhere
The front page of a newspaper is not where most people expect to find stories about piano lessons. The space is usually monopolized by news that’s time-sensitive and negative, and there is no shortage of either. It means the world to us that an editor looked at a story about students learning to love an instrument and decided it belonged there too.
It is also a reminder that innovation does not only come out of technology companies. The Payam Method did not begin in a lab or a computer. It began with a medical student learning about the psychology of language acquisition and testing a new methodology with his piano students. The rest is history.
