Watch Payam Music on 60 Minutes

Bill Whitaker and the team at 60 Minutes spent time inside our school to answer a simple question: why are our students falling in love with the piano, and why are they winning national competitions while they do it?
Most people remember piano lessons as something to endure: the scales, the strict rules, the slow march through sheet music. That is the very experience 60 Minutes set out to question when Bill Whitaker and his team came to film at Payam Music. They wanted to learn more about a largely unknown teacher who had built a method that has his students loving their lessons, and those students are sweeping national competitions.
The people who have joined our founder, Payam Khastkhodaei, only made the story more compelling: a partnership with Oscar-winning composer Hans Zimmer and our first CEO, Code.org co-founder Hadi Partovi.
